History

St. Francis Catholic Kitchen and JMJ Home share more than just their Board of Directors.  Both were founded by Fr. Peter Carota and continue to serve the needs of the homeless and poor of Santa Cruz County.  The Kitchen responds to spiritual and physical needs with food, clothing, showers and assorted other services.  A prayerful atmosphere is created by our volunteers so that the poor and homeless can pause and refresh from the stressful life of living on the streets or in abject poverty. The volunteer staff meets daily to pray and discern how to serve the needs of our Kitchen guests.
As with JMJ Home, the Kitchen is supported and operated by volunteers and private donations.  Please consider becoming a donor to the Kitchen and JMJ Home and help the poorest of the poor in our community.
All in need are welcome at the Kitchen regardless of race, creed, color or sex.
