In 2007 the Bargetto Winery announced that the Kitchen had been selected as the non-profit that would receive a portion of the profits of a very special wine: La Vita ("The Life" in Italian). This wine is a unique red wine which is a blend of Santa Cruz Mountains varietals. The beautiful label highlights art that depicts wine and wine making. When John Bargetto announced the Kitchen would be the recipient of the 2007 award he said: "We are very pleased to be able to, in a formal way, give back some of the proceeds to the Santa Cruz community."

A $5,000 check was awarded to the Kitchen in May of 2008. Thank you to the Bargetto Winery and all who purchased La Vita!
